Categories management devided into global categories and local categories by type management.

Building categories tree you may use Drag and  Drop method, categories depth is unlimited.

Categories tree view

You are able to choose how categories tree will be shown at the frontend: normal categories tree view (html), JavaScript tree categories view or AJAX categories tree - this is for large categories tree. Switch this option on system settings page. JavaScript type of view recommended for a long list of categories, all subcategories will be hidden by default and show to users when they click '+' icon.

Map Marker Icons

You may set up map marker icons for each category. Also you are able to manage themes of map marker icons. Listing's location according to listing categories attachs map marker icon. Map markers follow inheritence princip, so you may set up icons for upper category - and they will be available for child categories.

According to inheritance princip, we suggest directory owners to follow one of 3 ways  in map marker icons management:

1. Set some icons for each category. This will allow users to choose icon for any location of listing, that is in category.
2. Set only one icon for each root category. Users will not be able to choose categories, instead of it 'Single Icon' will be set up by default.
3. Do not set any marker icons for categories. In this way - map marker icons will be blank.

Icons images management

All icons files contain in 'themes/default/map_icons/icons/' folder on your server. In order to create new icons theme - copy new folder with icons into 'themes/default/map_icons/icons/', then go to 'Categories/Manage map marker icons themes' page in admin panel and enter new theme name (don't forget to save changes). Also you may translate themes names and icons names. Manage icons images in the same way, copy/remove files to/from one of subfolders of 'themes/default/map_icons/icons/'
